Expressing his concerns over heightened Pakistan-India tensions at the Line of Control (LoC), United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has urged the two nuclear-armed neighbours to resolve all their outstanding issues through dialogue.

The Dawn quoted UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric as saying in a media briefing, "United Nations is keeping vigil eye on escalation in tensions at LoC."

"Ban Ki-moon has appealed Pakistan and India to resolve their all outstanding issues through dialogues," the spokesman added.

Tensions have been prevailing between the two sides following the Uri terror attack in which 18 Indian soldiers were killed at an army base in Uri, J&K. Delhi had blamed Pakistan-based militants for the attacks, however, the allegations were denied by Pakistan.

In a major fallout, the two countries had expelled each others' diplomats last week and named a number of others as being involved in espionage.
