Uncapped all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius has been named in the South Africa's squad as a replacement for injured Dale Steyn for the remaining Tests of the three-match series against Australia.

The 33-year-old ruled out of the tour after fracturing his right shoulder during Australia's first innings of the opening Test, which the Proteas went on to win by massive 177 runs at the WACA Ground in Perth.

It was in the 38th minute of the match when Steyn went down wincing in pain while holding his shoulder after bowling to Usman Khawaja, prompting the physio to immediately arrive on the scene.

Meanwhile, Pretorius, who is yet to play Test cricket, made his ODI debut in September this year, playing three matches against Ireland and Australia,ESPNcricinfo reported.

The 27-year-old has also played 36 first-class matches, where he took 115 wickets at an average of 22.27 and notched up 1963 runs including four centuries.

The Faf du Plessis-led side, who have already taken a 1-0 lead in the series, will play their next Test against Australia starting on November 12 at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
