Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for taking tough decisions in the nation's favour was indicative of him not being sure of himself.
"It seems Narendra Modi still hasn't believed that he has become Prime Minister. He is still in his election campaign mode. Its true that this ship (INS Vikramaditya) was brought during Atal Behari Vajpayee's regime. But before that, it was under the Congress leadership that the 1971 war was fought and Bangladesh was formed," Ahmed said.
"He claims that the UPA was soft towards Pakistan, but he also gives a shawl to the Pakistan Prime Minister (Nawaz Sharif) when he comes, and serves him biriyani. And then, he says he is a tough decision maker. Therefore, this language doesn't suit the person holding the post of prime minister," Ahmed said.
Earlier today, while addressing workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here, Modi pitched in for taking all the decisions in favour of the country.
He criticized the previous UPA Government for not doing any good to the country and ruining it.
He said a nation cannot progress if states are not strong and developed.
Modi had gone to Goa to see an air power demonstration onboard the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya.
