Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday met the family of members BSF jawan Nitin Yadav, who was killed in the terrorist attack in Baramulla, and offered a compensation of Rs. 20 lakh.
"If Nitin Yadav would have not taken the enemy head on and if he would have thought about his life then the country would have had suffered a great loss. He was a brave heart, who sacrificed his life and saved many other lives," said Yadav.
"I salute him. I met Yadav's parents and I assured them that the Samajwadi Party Government stands by them in this hour of grief and will offer maximum support. As of now I have given the family of the deceased a cheque of Rs. 20 lakh," he added.
Nitin was killed when the militants opened fire and hurled grenades on the camp located adjacently to Rashtriya Rifles Army camp in Baramulla in northern Kashmir on late Sunday night.
