In an endeavour to maintain an edge over its political rivals ahead of sixth phase of polls in politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah along with party MP Yogi Adityanath on Thursday organised a road show in Gorakhpur.

Amid the road show which witnessed a warm reception by the people of the city, Shah, while addressing the masses expressed confidence and said that the sixth and the seventh phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will assure BJP two-third seats.

"In Gorakhpur we organised a road show to campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but the way people of the city have welcomed us, the love has assured us that there will be saffron swipe in Uttar Pradesh. In the first five phases the people have confirmed our victory, in the sixth and the seventh phase the masses of the state will confirm that we bag 2/3 seats in the state assembly," Shah said.

Shah also took the occasion to laud the two-and-a-half year of work done by Prime Minister Modi government and said that looking at the efficiency of the NDA dispensation at the Centre, Uttar Pradesh is once against chanting" Ab ki baar Modi sarkar.

"The people of the state are fed up of the communalism, the caste based politics and nepotism. And the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has worked in the past, Uttar Pradesh has decided that "Ab ki baar it will be Modi Sarkar," said Shah.

The voting for the sixth phase will take place on March 4.

A total of 49 constituencies across seven districts will go to polls.
