Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal on Tuesday criticized the Congress led-UPA Government over the recent hike in the petrol and diesel prices, saying the government is cruel to the people, and added that after the Lok Sabha elections, a third front will be formed and will lead the next government at the centre.
"Prime Minister, made it clear in his media interaction that he failed in controlling inflation. So there is nothing new in this decision. We have been maintaining that this government is cruel to the people," said Agarwal.
Petrol prices were hiked by 75 paise per litre and diesel by 50 paise per litre by oil companies on Friday.
"Till this government is in power, there will be reduction in the price rise, inflation and poverty. Now it is time to change this government. The third front will form the government after the general elections and will provide relief to the people," he added.
On Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal refusing to accept the two residences allotted to him on Bhagwan Dass Road in Central Delhi, Agarwal said, "All of this is nothing but a show. There are some things in politics which are very necessary. We don't give importance to these things. You can walk this way for some time, eventually you have to take other way.
