The Uttar Pradesh Assembly has been adjourned till 12.20 pm after a vociferous protest by the opposition parties against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The Congress party staged a walkout and the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Bhartiya Janata Party led a protest against the Akhilesh Yadav led government for failing to tackle the rising crime graph and not providing sufficient power and water to the people.
BSP leader Nasimuddin Siddiqui said that they wanted to first and foremost discuss UP law and order situation but Akhilesh government refused to do so.
Earlier, UP BJP president, Laxmikant Bajpa had said, "BJP will raise all the issues in the assembly session today, including problems related to safety of women, law and order, unemployment and power crisis. If the state government doesn't show a positive attitude towards the important issues, then the BJP will inform the public about the shortcomings of the state government.
