UrbanClap, India's largest local services marketplace, has acquired HandyHome, a home appliance repair or servicing company.
HandyHome is India's only platform which helps customers book an appliance repair or servicing job, fulfilled by brand or OEM authorized service partners.
"In a short span of time, the HandyHome team forged partnerships with India's leading home appliance OEMs, helping customers access their service network through a simple web and app platform. Given our focus on home services as a category, this acquisition makes a lot of strategic sense for us," said Co-founder of UrbanClap, Abhiraj Singh Bhal.
Adding their bit, Akash Goel, CEO, HandyHome said, "It made a lot more sense to integrate with UrbanClap and provide a complete range of services to our users. This will give UrbanClap the advantage to leverage HandyHome's strong hold on the appliance repair services space as well as the OEM tie-ups which have been established."
The HandyHome team has been working with UrbanClap closely for the past few months, with the legal transaction closing recently.
