The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has come under scrutiny after a federal watchdog exposed that the agency has given "substantial inaccurate" data about the location of twenty three US-funded health facilities in Afghanistan.

Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction's (SIGAR) inspection revealed that only 19 out 40 centres actually existed, the TOLONews reported.

It stated that the locations of the 23 facilities in Herat province were up to 6 miles from the GPS coordinates provided by USAID.

The inspection also revealed that many of the medical centres lack basic necessities including water and electricity.

Mohammad Asif Kabir, acting health director of Heart said that Afghanistan Government did not have any knowledge about the accuracies and if corruption has happened then the foreigners would be accountable for it.
