Senior American and Chinese officials have held talks to discuss cyber security and other issues after US President Barack Obama warned that cyber attacks from China were unacceptable.
According to The Guardian, cyber security has been a sensitive issue between the US and China.
Obama's National Security Advisor Susan Rice and China's senior Communist party secretary for political and legal affairs Meng Jianzhu had a "frank and open exchange about cyber issues", said the White House.
The move appears to be triggered in particular by a recent breach of US federal government personnel files that left millions of officials exposed.
