A Pakistani employee of the U.S. embassy has reportedly been shot dead in Islamabad.
Police said that the man, identified as Iqbal Baig, worked for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, reported The Express Tribune.
Police officer Khalid Awan said that the embassy's security officials have visited the crime scene.
The motive of the attack however, is still unclear.
Baig belonged to the minority community, Ismaili, which has recently been the target of sectarian violence in Pakistan.
At least 45 people, including women and children, belonging to the Ismaili community, were killed by half a dozen gunmen inside a bus in Karachi on May 13 this year.
