After Indian government took steps to address security concerns, the U.S. authorities have now upgraded the nation's aviation safety rating, making way for Indian airlines to increase the number of flights operating to the U.S.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration had earlier reduced the rating following tests in January 2014, reported the BBC.
Security concerns ranged from insufficient training for industry regulators to a dearth of flight inspectors.
The news came at a time when airline safety in the region is under intense scrutiny.
