US generals urge SAS troops to stay in Afghanistan to prevent Taliban from taking over

US generals have reportedly urged Britain to keep the SAS troops in Afghanistan in order to deter the Taliban from taking over.

According to The Mirror, Downing Street has agreed to a plea for 100 of the special forces regiment to stay behind when our forces pull out this year.

The Who Dares Wins warriors will remain in Afghanistan for another four years and see to it that any attacks by Islamic insurgents are foiled.

The SAS troops, considered to be "world class" according to US commanders, who have closely worked with the Britain' most elite fighting force, will also train and advise the fledgling Afghan Army.

Meanwhile, it was reported in February that the SAS will join a new US-led task force to counter the global threat from extremists, the report added.
