The first prototype of the Iron Man-like armour for the US soldiers would be ready for testing by June, a US Military official has said.

Head of US Special Operations Command, Navy Adm. William McRaven stated that three unpowered prototypes of the Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit, or TALOS, were currently being assembled.

He said that the suit would undergo an evaluation period and is expected to be field-ready by August 2018, The Verge reports.

McRaven said that the suit would yield a revolutionary improvement in survivability and capability for special operators.

According to the report, the TALOS was commissioned last October, and it is hoped that one day it would be armed with its own on-board computer, health monitors, and MIT-developed liquid armor that could harden in a matter of milliseconds, allowing the wearer to walk through a stream of bullets.
