The US Navy has revamped a giant missile defence system just few days after North Korea tested a hydrogen bomb. The new system is capable of destroying ballistic missile targets.

The Aegis Combat System Baseline 9.C1 offers unprecedented capabilities, including simultaneous air and ballistic missile defence (BMD), reported the Daily Star.

The Pentagon announced the upgrade as Pyongyang continues their power demonstration against South Korea and the US.

Tensions increased between the two countries after an American bomber capable of carrying nuclear missiles flew just 45 miles from North Korea.

According to the North Korean official Kim Ki Nam, US and its followers are jealous of the successful test of the first H-Bomb and this situation could also drive the two nations on the brink of the war.
