A former U.S. military intelligence official has warned that the Islamic State (IS) has teamed up with another terror organization, called 'The Higg,' which is helping them to take over Afghanistan.
Citing cources, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer said that about 1,000 ISIS fighters, including Uzbeks and Chechens, had taken control over five northern provinces in Afghanistan and also the drug trade in the south. They are going after mineral resources in Afghanistan, including Lithium, he said, reported Fox News.
The statement followed concerns expressed by several experts about IS making inroads into South Asia through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
