US State Department spokesperson has said, commenting on Islamabad High Court's order to release the mastermind of Mumbai attacks Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi that Pakistan had "pledged" to bring the perpetrators and financers of 26/11 to justice.

According to Dawn News, Jen Psaki said that the U.S. hopes Pakistani would stand by its word and punish all involved in the attack.

The US has been monitoring the proceedings of the case against Lakhvi including the release order, said Psaki.

When asked whether the US had any evidence against Lakhvi as the country had earlier called him a mastermind of the Mumbai terrorist attacks, Paski said that the US had "a range of ways of sharing information" with its partners but would not disclose it publicly.

Psaki said that the US supports peace talks between India and Pakistan but refused to comment on the negative effects the court order could have on the dialogue.
