Two US senators have reportedly called for a ban on in-flight calls, warning that it could cause hostility among packed passengers.
Senators Diane Feinstein and Lamar Alexander wrote to Transportation Secretary Anthony Fox said that they were concerned that the addition of this entirely avoidable aggravation of a confined space will create a possibly hostile atmosphere on commercial flights.
According to Tech Crunch, the FCC caused a national uproar last November, after it decided to explore the possibility of lifting the ban.
Meanwhile, only 54 percent Americans supported airlines privately banning calls.
The duo who introduced the Commercial Flight Courtesy Act last December said that they strongly supported the agency's efforts to preserve the last vestige of quiet in their busy skies.
