The United States conducted 17 airborne strikes on militant Islamic State (IS) group in Iraq and Syria on December 25.
According to the Dawn, five of the strikes were in Syria and 12 in Iraq.
The strikes were carried out by fighter aircraft, bombers and remotely controlled aircraft, targeting IS fighters, facilities, vehicles, IS tunnels, explosive manufacturing sites and fighting outposts.
The strikes were an intrinsic part of the Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation designed to target the IS. As per the reports, all US aircrafts had a safe retreat.
