The United States government has said it will seek the death penalty against Boston Marathon bombings suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
According to the BBC, the 20-year-old faces 30 charges, out of which 17 carry the possibility of capital punishment, including using a weapon of mass destruction to kill.
The bombings killed three and injured more than 260 in April 2013.
According to the report, Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty, but no trial date has been set yet.
Prosecutors alleged that Tsarnaev and his deceased older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, planted two pressure cooker bombs near the finish line of the marathon in a bid to retaliate against the US for its military action in Muslim countries.
