Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has hit back at Justin Gatlin, accusing the American rival of 'disrespect' ahead of next month's Rio Olympics.

The six-time Olympic gold medallist brushed aside concerns surrounding his fitness as he won the 200m race at the London Anniversary Games in 19.89 seconds in his return following a pelvic injury.

Bolt received a medical exemption to miss the Jamaican trials, which invited criticism from Gatlin and a host of other

American sprinters who said the world's fastest man had preferential treatment which he wouldn't have received if he were an American.

However, Bolt said he felt disrespectful and disappointed by the criticism and dismissed the claims by insisting that he has proven himself year after year that he was the greatest, Sport24 reported.

The world's fastest man will aim to become the first person to win the 100m and 200m double at three consecutive Games when he will feature in the Rio Olympics.
