The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on Thursday announced the addition of a new Board member Andrew Liveris, Chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company and Executive Chairman of DowDuPont.
"The USISPF Board continues to attract high-caliber members who serve as both prominent business leaders and global influencers with an ability to impact international relations and corporate affairs worldwide," USISPF said.
A recognized global business leader with more than 40 years at Dow, Liveris' career has spanned roles in manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management around the world.
"Dow is extremely focused on providing advanced manufacturing technologies to India, as Prime Minister Modi continues to transform India's dynamic economy and open this enormous market to great trade opportunities through economic diversification, sustainable growth and innovation. I am proud to join USISPF's board and contribute to the conversations around commercial trade and partnership between the U.S. and India," Liveris said .
Liveris has demonstrated great commitment to the U.S.-India partnership and has earned appreciation and recognition from the community. In June 2017, he received the 2017 Global Leadership Award for championing U.S.-India relations.
An international advocate for the criticality of manufacturing to the long-term health of national economies, Liveris is the author of Make It in America, a book which presents a comprehensive set of practical policy solutions and business strategies to achieve Dow's vision of an 'Advanced Manufacturing' economy.
