Former Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) president Sharad Yadav on Monday overruled Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs M. Venkaiah Naidu's statement that the Uttarakhand political crisis will not be discussed in Parliament as the matter is sub-judice in the Supreme Court and said that his party will defiantly and definitely rake up the issue as the Parliament's job is different from that of the court.
Yadav told ANI, "We will definitely rake up the Uttarakhand issue in the Parliament. No matter the issue is in the court we will discuss the issue. The Parliament's job is different from that of court. If any sort of injustice is being done it should be discussed in the Parliament."
Earlier in the day, Naidu said the government is willing to discuss every issue in the Parliament, but hinted that president's rule in Uttarakhand may not be discussed, as the matter is sub judice.
The session will continue till May 13. Last month, the budget session of Parliament was prorogued to facilitate the promulgation of an ordinance to meet the financial requirements of centrally-ruled Uttarakhand.
