The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won with a clear majority in the state with 57 seats in a 70-member assembly, ousting the Congress led by chief minister Harish Rawat.
The Congress bagged 11 seats with the other parties at two.
Rawat lost from both the Haridwar (Rural) and Kichcha seats.
Over 68 percent of the electorate voted in the Uttarakhand Polls 2017.
The assembly polls were being seen as a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity and his reforms agenda, particularly demonetisation, but with the varying results in different states, the verdict seems unclear.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, however, later congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the wins in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
