Manchester United football team manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that his side is the best team in the Premier League, despite the club's stuttering performances this season.
Van Gaal spent 157 million pounds in the summer and yet United struggled to beat League One Preston in the FA Cup and critics have labelled them long ball merchants and an expensive pub team this season.
However, the Dutchman believes United's players finally understand his philosophy and are on the path to greatness even if he concedes that performances are a long way from being perfect, The Mirror reported.
Van Gaal said that when one sees the score of the last 19 or 20 matches, United are the best team in the league.
He added that now he believes that every player knows the philosophy of him and his staff, adding that everyone wants to follow that philosophy and one can see that in the team spirit of the team which is unbelievable.
Van Gaal claimed that mostly he has told the players after the matches that they can play better, but added that he has also said it was already 70 minutes good, this match, or 45 or 60, but insisted that they have to do it 90 minutes.

The Dutchman claimed that he doesn't believe that they have been able to do it for 90 minutes, so he believes that they have a long way to go. He added that one doesn't have to exaggerate that United is playing well.
But, Van Gaal said that very important is that they continue to win and that they don't lose so much anymore and that the results are more stable.
