Amidst the raging storm surrounding Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula's suicide and the return of varsity Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao Podile, Jawaharlal Nehru University students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar will visit the Hyderabad University on Wednesday and address the students there.
The varsity yesterday witnessed protests after Appa Rao resumed office after going on leave amid the storm following the suicide of Vemula.
The protesting students vandalised the VC's residence where he was due to address the press.
Kanhaiya had met Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi yesterday and thanked him for his support to the JNU students.
He led a delegation of JNUSU and All India Students' Federation (AISF) leaders to meet Gandhi at his residence.
This is the first time that the Congress vice president met Kanhaiya since he was released on bail following an uproar over alleged anti-national activities at the JNU campus. The student leader was charged with sedition.
