Former world number one Venus Williams bagged her second title of the season after Garbine Muguruza was forced to retire during the second set of the Wuhan Open final on Saturday.
Venus was leading 6-3, 3-0 when her Spanish opponent pulled out of the match due to an ankle injury sustained during her semi-final clash against Germany's Angelique Kerber.
The American also admitted that she would have had a tough match against Muguruza if the Spaniard had been on form, Sport24 reported.
Earlier on Friday, Venus avenged her sister Serena's US Open loss after defeating Roberta Vinci in a topsy-turvy gruelling semifinal clash.
