Former Indian cricketer Erapalli Prasanna on Tuesday welcomed the verdict of the Supreme Court appointed committee in the IPL fixing case and said that the decision would serve as a caution for the future governing council of the cash-rich league and BCCI.
"The decision looks a little bit fair. I don't have enough knowledge of betting and all. So, it's very difficult for me to visualise who all are involved. But the decision, which has been given, which has taken many points from all the views, is a sort of caution sort of thing for future IPL governing council and BCCI administrator or what not. It's now quite evident that any wrong move will be severely dealt. It's a very good decision basically. Both compassion as well as hardness is there. It's a combination of both," Prasanna told ANI.
The Supreme Court appointed committee on Tuesday made a landmark judgment in which it imposed a two-year ban on the IPL franchises-Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). The committee, which was headed by Justice R.M. Lodha, and also sanctioned life-long suspensions on CSK official Gurunath Meiyappan and RR co-owner Raj Kundra.
