Veteran Nepali litterateur Kamal Mani Dixit has passed away.
According to the Kathmandu Post, Dixit died at his residence in Patandhoka, Lalitpur, on Thursday morning. He was 87.
Dixit was the founder Chairman of the Madan Puraskar Guthi and Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya.
A die-hard lover of Nepali literature, Dixit was considered one of crowns of Nepali literature. He has contributed to over three dozen Nepali literary works his original creation and editing.
He survived by his two sons-Kunda Dixit and Kanak Mani Dixit- both established journalists of Nepal, and his daughter Rupa Joshi, well known writer.
He was cremated at an electric crematorium in Pashupatinath temple area.
Dixit was born on August 2, 1929 in Gairidhara, Kathmandu as the second son of Kedar Mani Acharya and Bidhya Devi Dixit.
