New Zealand veteran left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori has said that he hoped his team would continue their aggressive approach against tough opponents in the knock-out stages, in order to lift their maiden World Cup trophy.
New Zealand have been unbeaten so far in the ongoing tournament as they swept aside Afghanistan on Sunday to clinch their fifth successive win .
Vettori, who was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his impressive figures of four for 18, said that it was purely about winning games, insisting that was what they had been able to do so far, and they could hopefully continue in the important knockout stages, Sport24 reported.
Reflecting on the upcoming knock-stages, the veteran spinner said that anyone they would come up against in the quarterfinal was going to be a tough opposition, dismissing that there would be no real thought that some teams are out of form or not playing well.
Vettori, who crossed 300 wickets milestone during the tie against Afghanistan, added that all the teams that eventually make it (to the play-offs) have got match winners, insisting that one can't sit back and say a team is not in form because one goes into it thinking that a team is going to play at its best.
