German carmaker Volkswagen has included Audi and Skoda cars to its list of recalls over mechanical faults.
Audi and Skoda, sister brands to Volkswagen had incorporated the DSG gearboxes over which the recall has been made, reported News.com.au.
1746 Skoda cars manufactured in 2009-11 and 6200 Audi A1 and A3 cars of July 2008 to July 2011 manufacturing have been recalled making it a total of 38,000 recalls in Australia by the Volkswagen group.
According to the report, owing to immense pressure from the disgruntled customers who complained of engines that conked out, high oil use, gearbox reliability issues and high service charges after the warranty expired.
The other cars recalled by Volkwagen include Golf hatchback, the Jetta sedan, the Polo hatchback, the Passat sedan and wagon and the Caddy van.
The company is yet to issue recalls for the cars which customers complain decelerate suddenly.
Volkwagen has also set up a dedicated customer service line to help answer queries related to the issue and has asked owners to contact their local Volkswagen dealer if experiencing any fault, the report added.
