Polling in 135 municipal bodies under the first phase of urban bodies elections is currently underway in Madhya Pradesh.
According to reports, voting is underway in 26 Nagar Palikas, 100 Nagar Parishads and nine municipal corporations including Gwalior, Rewa, Satna and Khandwa.
Ten thousand candidates are in the fray this time, with over 44 lakh registered voters
Security forces have been deployed in Gwalior and Chambal region to maintain law and order.
