Voting for assembly by-polls is going on in full swing in Patiala with voters appreciating the safety measures taken by the local administration.
A voter, Pawan Kumar, said, "There is a good arrangement of police and safety measures, the polls are going on very peacefully, the administration has taken very good steps."
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament (MP) Dharamvira Gandhi after casting his vote expressed his hope for positive results from the polls.
"I hope that I will get the same support from the local people as I have got earlier. The locals know about my image in the parliament and they also know what work I have done. People will vote for us because they want honest and fair politics. I have also cast my vote," said Gandhi.
Moreover, Congress leader Amarinder Singh and his wife Preneet Kaur also cast their votes, post which Singh said that his appeal in the High Court regarding the issue of vote rigging has been accepted.
Today's assembly by-polls in Punjab are scheduled for the assembly constituencies of Patiala (Urban) and Talwandi Sabo.
