Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav on Wednesday said that if Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is not able to find out the truth related to the Vyapam scam, it is unlikely that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh would be able to do the same.
"If Shivraj Singh cannot find the truth in Vyapam, it is unlikely that Rajnath Singh's Ministry will find it. The Supreme Court should institute a Special Investigative Team directly monitored by the court, then only can the truth of Vyapam come out," said Yadav.
Chouhan had earlier said that linking every death to the Vyapam scam was not justified and alleged that the Congress Party was attempting to tarnish the state's image with their constant attack on his government.
He also said that the case has reached a logical conclusion saying that he would be requesting the Supreme Court to call for a CBI probe into the cause of each death.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court had earlier refused to entertain the state government's plea for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the deadly Vyapam scam.
The court said that it will wait for the Supreme Court ruling on petitions seeking a CBI probe in the multi-crore scam.
