Marvel Cinematic Universe film 'Black Panther' took home two major Grammy awards Sunday night.

Out of album-related nominations, the music from the 2018 Fantasy/Science Fiction film won the awards for best score soundtrack for visual media and best rap performance.

The film's first of two wins was bagged by Ludwig Göransson's Black Panther score which was honoured as Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Göransson spoke about the hard work that went into creating the celebrated music. The composer revealed that to help create the score, he and his team traveled to the International Library of African Music in South Africa, where he got a chance to work with a collection of about 500 instruments, even the ones which don't exist anymore.

The best rap performance award was received for the song 'King's Dead' by Kendrick Lamar. The song shared the award with 'Bubblin', by Anderson Paak. 'King's Dead' was also nominated for best rap song, but the award went to Drake's 'God's Plan.'

Marvel's 'Black Panther' which is also nominated for some significant awards at Oscars, is the first superhero film ever to be nominated for best picture at the Academy Awards.
