Former Pakistan pace spearhead and incumbent team coach Waqar Younis has admitted that Misbah-ul-Haq's team need to beat bigger teams like South Africa in order to regain confidence and show the world that they are among the top-contenders to win the World Cup.

Pakistan won two successive games against Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates to grab four points in the Pool B table, and will next face South Africa in a crunch match on March 7 in Auckland.

Reflecting on the team's back-to-back win, Younis said that it definitely changed the body language of the players because a win always make one feel comfortable and confident.

However, he further said that he still feel that they need to win against a bigger team like South Africa to tell the world that they are around, the Dawn reported.

Admitting that his team has the ability to beat South Africa, Younis said that of course they can, they had done it in the past, and they had beaten South Africa in South Africa.

Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had suffered two back-to-back humiliating defeats against India and the West Indies before registering their first win.
