Australia swashbuckling all-rounder Shane Watson has left the MCG nets after being struck by a bouncer delivery on the helmet during a training session for the upcoming Boxing Day Test against India.
Fast bowler James Pattinson, who bowled the bouncer delivery, also left the nets looking shaken as players and officials rushed towards all-rounder to check on him, the Stuff.co.nz reported.
According to reports, Watson has not been injured, but took his time out in the dressing room after the blow.
Watson reportedly fell to his knees, and then walked out of the nets and sat with his head in his hands for several minutes before leaving the session with team doctor Peter Brukner, the report added.
Earlier this month, Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes passed away after succumbing to injuries he endured from a bouncer at the SCG.
