Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is reportedly building up to bat and bowl in the third and deciding Test against South Africa at Cape Town and may replace either Alex Doolan or Shaun Marsh in the match.
After winning the first Test by 281, Australia was beaten by 231 runs in the second, ambushed by the locals, who compiled a big score, bowled better when it came their turn to field and then blew away the opposition with a compelling spell of reverse-swing bowling spearheaded by Dale Steyn.
According to News.com.au, the Cape Town, with a quick and fast wicket, is a tricky prospect for Australia although Watson's five overs gave him what appeared at the time to be the match-winning figures of 5-17 the last time Australia played in that ground.
Head coach Darren Lehmann remained hopeful on the prospect of Watson playing and the report added that if his injured calf survives, he would be on a path to bowling more in match conditions.
