West Bengal Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rahul Sinha has questioned the composition of the delegation accompanying Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee on her visit to Singapore. Banerjee is going to Singapore on a five-day trip with a delegation of 50 members to attract investment. The minister will also meet the prime minister and foreign minister of Singapore.
Speaking to ANI, Sinha said, "A high power delegation team is going to Singapore from West Bengal to bring the industries. I do not know what movie stars are doing in that team. The composition of the team itself suggests that they a going there to have fun and not to bring in industries".
He said, "To bring industry to Bengal, there should first be infrastructure development".
According to Sinha, no Bengal investor is willing to invest there and the same goes for investors from across the nation.
He further said, "They had even gone to Mumbai to invite the investors but no one came. When people of Bengal and India are not willing to invest here how we can expect the foreign investors to invest".
He said that Bengal is a state where Tata has been disgraced and asked to leave the state.
He finally said, "There can only be extortion and syndicate industry here".
