Asserting that the Union Budget has historically become a significant opportunity to indicate the pace and direction of India's economic policy, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday said the NDA-led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a 'round the clock, round the year government'.
Presenting the NDA Government's first full-fledged budget in the Lok Sabha today, Jaitley turned lyrical and said that much more needs to be done for the improvement of Indian economy.
"Kuch to phool khilaye humne aur kuch phool khilaane hain mushkil ye hai baagh mein ab tak kaante kayi purane hain," he said amid a thumping applause from the leaders present in the house.
Jaitley further said that his proposals, therefore, lay down the roadmap for accelerating growth, enhancing investment and passing on the benefit of the growth process to the common man, women, youth and child; those whose quality of life needs to be improved.
"This is the path we will doggedly and relentlessly pursue. As the Prime Minister has often said we are round the clock round the year government," he added.
The Finance Minister said the NDA Government has in the last nine months turned around the Indian economy dramatically.

"We have turned around the economy dramatically restoring macro-economic stability and creating conditions for sustainable poverty elimination, job creation, durable double digit economic growth. Domestic and international investors are seeing us with renewed trust and hope," said Jaitley.
"This opportunity has risen, because we created it. The people of India have voted resoundingly for quick change, faster growth, and highest levels of transparency. They wanted a government they can trust," he added.
