External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Friday reiterated that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will be leading his party's campaign in the 2014 general elections and added that it has been a unique experience for him to serve under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Asked for a reaction to the Prime Minister's media interaction, Khurshid said, "Ministers don't speak on what the Prime Minister has said, but ministers speak what the PM wants them to."
"This was an important press conference, as he wanted to give some important messages to the country. We had a unique privilege and honour to have served with such remarkable man also an economical genius. We still have the last lap to run as there still three more months left," he added.
On Prime Minister urging the younger generation to take over, Khurshid said, "We have a young leadership already. The leadership of Rahul Gandhi is there, as the vice president of the party and he is leading us from the front. So, he is already there for everybody to see."
On the Prime Minister's attack on Modi and upholding Rahul Gandhi's credentials, Khurshid said, "He is only expressing what we all feel passionately, as far as Rahul is concerned, and, very strongly and bitterly, as far as Modi is concerned.
