Arunachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to launch a web-based educational program for all schools in collaboration with Google.
Inaugurated by Nabam Tuki, the Chief Minister Global Education Programme, would be initially launched in over 50 schools of the state and later extend to others in phased manners.
The system aims to bring the power of the web into the classroom and improve productivity.

"Main inspiration is that it simplifies the teaching process and students can easily understand the process of teaching. Everything will be connected here through the laptop. Books will be there but along with the books, it will be an easier way of teaching and understanding. So students can gain a lot of benefit," said Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
In order to implement the project properly, the government will now be working towards removing the communication problems in the state and build better educational infrastructure.

The Northeast region is landlocked and the students often face problems due to bandhs and other disturbances.
The availability of internet based learning system will enhance the education process and make it easier for students to study at home.
"We have talked to the central government for the connectivity problem and they have promised that it will be taken care of within this year. They have said that in order to solve the internet problem broadband will be used. After that this problem will be solved," added Tuki.
Once implemented, smart classes will give a boost to the education process and make learning easier, especially for those living in remote areas.
