'Prison Break' star Wentworth Miller has reportedly come out of the closet about his sexuality for the first time in a letter he wrote to the director of the St. Petersburg International Film Festival rejecting their invitation to travel to the Motherland for the event.
The 41-year-old actor thanked them for their kind invitation which made him quite happy as he claims to have a degree of Russian ancestry but declined to attend the event, keeping in mind Russia's stand towards homosexuals, as he is gay, TMZ.com reported.
He revealed that he is "deeply troubled" to see Russian government's current attitude and treatment of gay men and women.
Miller said that the situation was unacceptable to him and he would not participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like him are being systematically denied their basic right to 'live and love openly'.
He added that he would make a different choice if circumstances improved.
