West Indian commentator Tony Cozier passes away

Renowned West Indian cricket commentator Tony Cozier has recently passed away in his hometown. He was 75.

Cozier, who began writing on cricket in 1958 and became one of the most distinguished voices of the game, was admitted to the hospital on May 3 after complaining infections in the neck and legs.

In 1965, Cozier began his career as the cricket commentator during Australia's tour of West Indies,ESPNcricinfo reported.

Cozier, who was also an esteemed writer and journalist, edited the West Indies Cricket Annual between 1970 and 1991. He also wrote the acclaimed book, the West Indies: 50 Years of Test Cricket in 1978.

He was also regarded as one of the most prolific watchers of Test cricket anywhere, watching a total of 266 Tests in his 40-odd years of covering the game.
