Darren Bravo and Johnson Charles stitched a partnership of 78 runs, which gave West Indies the all-important stability, but Ravindra Jadeja cut their partnership short by scalping a well-set Charles leg before wicket for 60. Marlon Samuels failed to create an impact with the bat as he fell prey to Jadeja for a solitary run, putting the West Indian team in a spot of bother.
Earlier in the day, defending his decision of fielding first Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said his decision of fielding first is because it is currently overcast which could help his bowlers.
India remained unchanged. Dhoni wants the bowlers to improve their lines in the first 10 overs.
West Indian skipper Dwayne Bravo after the toss said he would have bowled first as well, but now wants to forget the conditions and get a good total.
"It is not a bad track to bat first. Ramdin is out, Darren Sammy comes in and confirmation that Johnson Charles will keep," he said.

When asked whether the Ramdin issue has affected the side, Bravo takes his time to choose his words and talks about having to look beyond that.
