The Shiv Sena on Saturday reacted sharply, after two All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporators were suspended amid a scuffle after they refused to stand up when 'Vande Mataram' was sung at the start of the day's proceedings in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation.
Speaking on the matter, Shiv Sena leader Manisha Kayande said that she wants to question AIMIM cadres as to which country they belong to.
"Staying in India, they expect that people should sing Pakistan's national anthem? What is your objection to Vande Mataram? This is the mother land that is nourishing and nurturing you, what is your problem if you bow down to them?" she said.
Kayande further said that the country comes first and then religion.
