Hailing the Supreme Court's verdict on AIADMK general secretary V.K. Sasikala Natarajan in the disproportionate assets case, niece of late and former Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa, Deepa Jayakumar on Tuesday said whoever leads the party should not be a puppet to Natarajan clan.
"This verdict is a good one and Sasikala's family does not deserve to lead the people of Tamil Nadu. Whoever leads the AIADMK should not be a puppet to Natrajan clan. I know Jayalalithaa from heart. She never had those ambitions. All she wanted was to serve her people. The people used her office to engage in all these things and Jayalalithaa for sure did not think of anything happening like this," Jayakumar told ANI.
The apex court verdict was keenly awaited by both the camps in Tamil Nadu, one led by Sasikala and the other by interim Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam.
Right after Palanisamy's meeting, Panneerselvam supporter V. Maitreyan met Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao today.
