Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has reportedly agreed to be interrogated by Swedish prosecutors at Ecuador's London embassy over allegations of sexual assault, his lawyer said.
Assange sought refuge in the embassy in June 2012 and has been staying there in order to avoid extradition to Sweden over allegations that he sexually assaulted two women in 2010, reported News24.
Swedish prosecutors had said last month that they wanted to question Assange in London, backing down from a previous demand it happen in Sweden. The request was although welcomed by Assange's lawyers but they had not formally agreed to the arrangement.
Assange has consistently denied sexual assault charges imposed on him by prosecutors.
He fears that if Britain extradites him to Sweden then he would be extradited to the United States where he could face trial for one of the biggest information leaks in the history of the U.S. for publishing military and diplomatic documents five years ago.
