Will Ferrell has joined the cast of former Wimbledon champions Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King inspired film 'Match Maker', where he will star as Riggs.
According to Deadline.com, the film is based on an article that appeared in ESPN The Magazine, titled 'The Match Maker: Bobby Riggs, The Mafia And The Battle Of The Sexes'.
The article focuses on a 1973 tennis match, where tennis star King, then 29, faced off against 55-year-old Riggs, and took him down.
The match had drawn 50 million TV viewers.
Steven Conrad of 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' has been assigned to write the script.
