Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Raosaheb Dadsaheb Danve on Thursday, resigned from the Union Cabinet and vowed to work for the betterment of Maharashtra.
Danve resigned after being appointed as the Maharashtra BJP chief.
"The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has the principle of 'one man one post', and that is why I resigned. I will now work for the betterment of Maharashtra as the state BJP president," Danve told ANI.
Earlier in the day, the former minister had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hand over his resignation, which the latter accepted.
